Polish Automotive Supplier realizes 225.000 PLN savings in transportation - Expense Reduction Analysts
Novol manufactures a wide range of products for automotive lacquer renovation, boatbuilding materials, sport and industrial floors, as well as wooden floor varnish. The company has a plant close to Poznan and clients in Poland, many EU countries, as well as in Asia, Australia and Africa. In order to establish sustainable procurement procedures, Noval asked Expense Reduction Analysts-Senior Partner Lukasz Polak to have a closer look at various cost categories like transport, packaging, electricity, insurance and telecommunication.
Yearly transport costs at Novol had exceeded 2,5 million PLN. Expense Reduction Analysts concentrated on road transport, because it was responsible for the majority of that sum. Novol had one dominant supplier of transport services, covering fully its distribution within Poland and most of exports bound for Germany. They also had several smaller suppliers covering exports and delivery to other EU countries.
Expense Reduction Analysts executed a tender based on the client’s needs and and consolidated order portfolio. The dominant supplier did not submit his offer. A new supplier was found in the tender that took over the whole outbound transport and the majority of inbound delivery.
Expense Reduction Analysts started the project at a time when the dominant supplier had lowered prices effectively by 18 percent. Nevertheless, with the new supplier Novol is able to increase its profits by annually 225.000 PLN, while maintaining high standard of services like deliveries on a very short notice, guarantees of ADR transport and controlled temperatures during winter.
